We were happy to welcome 84 golfers to our one-day mixed scramble with three- women and three-man teams competing. We thank all of them for supporting our Society’s 29 years of growing our endowment fund. This year $40,500.00 in scholarships were given to the SOSS class of 2024.

We were thankful that we had many sponsors from businesses in our community giving generously in many ways. For the first time we had a Platinum Sponsor.  Jim Dunlop and Kyle Hamaguchi from CIBC Wood Gundy Private Wealth added their support to our tournament. The players were treated to many raffle prizes, an auction and a fun party game after the dinner. Proceeds from this event will help our endowment fund grow.

A highlight of the golf tournament was a hole in one made on Hole 10. The team of Lisa Deleo, Sam Tadey, Michelle Brandt, Matt Bolton and Dave McFadden witnessed as their team-mate Justin Brandt put it in. Of course, the team won the prize for closest to the pin. However, Justin enjoyed the accolades on the course and inside the clubhouse. He recounted how he hopped the ball just past the hole and spun it back. The organizers were thrilled and awarded Justin a cash prize. While there were games and food on the course and a delicious buffet dinner inside, we cannot forget that there was a golf tournament

The top teams were;

First: Dave Mattes, Brenda Mattes, Keith Weinrich, Aggie Weinrich, Daryn Pottinger, Barb Barley

Second: Rob Tadey, Kevin Schultze, Patrick Sullivan, Cayla McLean, Danielle Dhaliwal, Noelle Starzyki

Third: Jak Meyer, Janice Stevens, Brad Burns, Jocelyn Burns, Marcus Toneatto, Anita Toneatto

And the big winners are the graduating students from SOSS who are awarded scholarships that help them on their journey to further education.

fun with friends..............

And last, but not least, we would like to extend our thanks to Brian McDonald, Rob Tadey and all of the Fairview Mtn staff who helped make our 29th annual golf tournament a success.

Fairview Mountain has been generous enough to host our annual fund raising tournament for 29 years, and we look forward to them hosting this event for many years to come.
